Half marathon road closure

Travelling Drayton Bridge Road area it was observed that stewards were not observing designated times for road closure but stopping people early. Did others have this problem in other places?  Previous years stewards acted according to advertised times of closure.

Roads were shut over a considerable area by 9 far earlier than advertised, including Cuckoo Ave and Greenford Ave.

Added to that there were signs in abundance stating road closed & road ahead closed, but what about a diversion route??All very well if you know the area, otherwise fend for yourself.Similar to the temporary - soon to be reviewed NOT Longfield turn. It states names of road which is fine assuming one is familiar with local road names
