EALING AND ACTON ROADS ARE A DISGRACE

The roads in Ealing and Acton are fullof potholes,bad surfaces and a danger to all,what do we pay Council Tax and Road Tax for todrive on these unsafe Roads?Come on Ealing Council get them fixed!!!!!!

Most councils have cover for this, albeit that we pay the premium, so I stand by my comment.Perhaps the roads budget will then be spent on roads rather than vanity projects.

Folks, report the potholes to Ealing Council via customer services or the 24/7 App. In my experience serious potholes which Ealing Council are responsible for are usually fixed within 72 hours - Pop to Brent and Hillingdon where road defects are inspected within 10 days and fixed after 28 days if deemed unsafe. (Brent's roads are truly awful!) Councils rely on section 58 Highways Act stating they take all reasonable care to inspect roads and footpaths and will provide an inspection schedule to that effect - but if the pothole is reported to them and not fixed as a result of the report there are reasonable grounds to claim. https://www.lovemoney.com/guides/64502/pothole-damage-how-to-claim-compensation-from-your-local-councilWe don't live in a perfect world and it's unreasonable to expect perfectly maintained roads but as residents we should report these defects and get them fixed..

Pursue the claim. Take more photos with a yellow tape measure in shot for reference from a number of angles.It will also, if you hit it hard enough, have misaligned your suspension. 'Hit them' for every penny of cost and be prepared, and tell them that you are prepared, to take it to court.

There was a damned great pothole I hit which  damaged my tyre. I was so shocked I went back to the scene as I wondered if maybe I had hit a kerb. However5 a series of holes about 4inches deep were the cause. I took photos & said to the council I wanted to claim.Basically they fobbed me off & dismissed my claim which im extremely unhappy with. Has anyone any thoughts or experience with this sort of thing??

There is no such thing as road taxVehicle Excise duty is a charge for polluting in public. It's not ring-fenced for spending on roads.
