Caravans in Pitshanger Park

This morning there were several caravans sited on the far eastern end of Pitshanger Park, seemingly unrelated to any of the events happening within the park. A few cars were coming in and out of the gate onto Brunswick Rd. Is there an innocent explanation, or is that part of the park about to become unusable for the rest of the summer?

Humble apologies to Mr. Slater. I had not spotted that there are two threads on this issue. My comment re bile and his class war are directed at Mr. Militari in the other thread.

Apart from the bile of Mr. Slater's class war he has the wrong Ward. Pitshanger Park is in Cleveland Ward with two of its three councillors being Labour.

Sadly we have already had the first 'class war' apologist in another thread.They will of course be the first to complain when their car is broken into or their possessions stolen.

What concerns me most is the state the park is likely to be left in, once they move on. Ealing Common, amongst other sites, has been left in a terrible state previously, strewn with rubbish and human excrement. As a family we regularly enjoy Pitshanger Park and the playground right beside where they are currently camped out. It's likely to be a no go zone for the rest of the summer, or until the council carries out the no doubt costly clean up

Make no mistake, petty crime will go through the roof locally.It happened when the moved onto the Elthorne Park extension, it happened around Norwood Green (source: ward policing units)

I'm not claiming that travellers are all angels but bike theft isn't usually their sort of thing. They'd have issues with storing and selling the bikes.

The caravans appeared Friday, seemingly travellers. The police were parked in the Meadvale Rd entrance to stop further developments.By all accounts they were being blamed for petty crime - bike thefts in Pitshanger Lane
