Two passenger jets with a heavy fighter escort

About mid-day today two fairly-low flying passenger jets with a heavy fighter escort fly across South Ealing heading towards Heathrow or Northolt airports. The first had four fighters following as an escort, while the second following half-a-minute later had two fighter planes following as an escort. Does anyone have any idea who or what was being escorted and where they were going?
