Chelsea FC victory parade cancelled by police because crowd may be attacked!

The Jihadis must be laughing ! An attack in Manchester brings London to a halt , what a joke! In Manchester a run of 30,000 runners goes ahead with 100,000 supporters! Our new weak Met .Commissioner Cressida Dick( clue in the surname) refuses stop and search , and invites numerous Laughing Jihadis to bomb London when the police call London to stop ,as we are too scared to have a public event . Inviting another attack , obviously in weak London!

Probably not, however instead of a softly softly approach & pussyfooting around, there needs to be hard action. I would rather be inconvenienced than compromise safety & if a person has nothing to hide alls well.

The art of terrorism is to rerrorise. I often ponder, if god forbid I saw an attack, hopefully this will not happen but speaking boldly from my chair, I like to think I would have a go & do some damage to the ****er.I feel there are steps which can be taken, obvious ones & sod upsetting the liberal do gooders.1) Any or all persons who have travelled to Syria or had any dealings with Daesh, as UKIP suggested confiscate their passports.2) stop & search.Mostly men/women between 18 & 40, no idea of official statistics & if they are Asian, Indian, Pakistani, Somali, tough.That is simple common sense, people dont like it, get over it. I dont like being short fat & ugly, but hey ho

Are the Manchester 30,000 runners and 150,000 supporters brave or unsympathetic to carry on as normal ! Please someone tell me the difference !As for Chelsea FC decision this was on police advice , the same as Arsenal! Ian Hopkins / or weak Cressida Dick ? Don't expect any replies !

It's as much a mark of respect as a pragmatic decision by Chelsea FC. After all, It's the Manchester clubs that Chelsea were in contention with for most of the season, and Chelsea's former manager is now at Man United.Even though the last furlong was between another London club, it would be wrong to gloat at this juncture, when most wish to show solidarity with a city that has endured an atrocity that has affected people from much of the UK. Whilst safety was no doubt an issue, there is still the FA Cup to play for.So sensible and respectful from Chelsea and this is from a Brentford fan!

I also thought that the cancellation was a Chelsea proposal.  Very sensible in view of the increased demand on police/army time and resources.  Not suggesting that we shut up the shop but a victory parade is a lower priority than an actual sporting event.

Cressida Dick told Sky News: Stop and search is a very important tactic - it's a very important power for officers and has been hugely powerful in the fight so far against knife crime. So of course I want it to continue. that does not sound like a refusal.

Yesterday evening i was searched going into Brent Cross and it was orderly. However more security staff are needed to make this work properly. Also Police numbers need increasing so that general Public Safety is increased figures from 4 years ago show that we had proportionally 20% less Police in the UK than the US. We know that cuts have reduced that further. So when we see the level of Policing for all the events in London  we can see it is stretched. Well Cressida Dick does not fill me with Confidence at all as she was in charge of the operation that led to the Brazilian Guy getting shot on the tube. The operation was bungled on 1 key aspect. Why if he had been a bomber, was a bombing suspect allowed when under surveillance to actually go down to the tube. This shows a lack of joined up thinking and also that if not all the resources were available to effectively do the job then, are they available now under austerity government. I have used my Postal Vote to vote for the Party that has promised more Police. We need better rewards for our emergency services. If i have to pay more tax to be safe then so be it.

I agree Dennis.Total over reaction. I am told not to name the institution where I do voluntary work. It is under contract to the government in the field of security. I am told to expect regular searches of my car and person even by dogs. OTT IMO. The terrorists are therefore winning. I hope we still have a Cup Final.
