Longfield Avenue again

Has anyone seen signs that the turn out of Longfield is to be changed from left to right only? I report my wife's observation.

No doubt purely to suit the marketing and PR machine of Developers who seem to have entire authorities in their pockets.

Nevertheless it is confusing to have a Council-placed sign on the pavement on the left-side pavement when proceeding South on Longfield where it joins the Uxbridge road that says: "From April 2016", the assumption is that it refers to this year 2017 and not that it is a year-old relic even though it says: "From April 2016", confusing! From implies the future.

The only signs with any legality there are the no right turn sign on the Uxbridge road and the no left turn sign on Longfield Avenue.The other signs are they for information only and have no legal status.This one on the left hereAnd the one of the left here

I noted that sign yesterday and if you look at it again while it says that the turn will be closed later in April it is April 2016, that is LAST YEAR not this year. On that basis alone I think that anyone who has been ticketed going through that sign in the wrong direction could probably appeal the fine successfully.The sign is hopelessly out of date (over a year) and fits in with the whole Ealing ethos of potholes, broken paving, and not working or broken CCTV cameras.

This is so obvious a money making scheme that causes disruption and pollution elsewhere. The no left turn would be because of cyclists/motorbikes in the bus lane not being seen by drivers zooming out onto the uxbridge road. But this is true of most junctions but nothing happens elsewhere in the borough.

That was the change made last year, no right turn into Longfield, only a right turn out. This has now generated £1 million revenue from fines.
