Indian restaurants

Any recommendations for Indian restaurants in the Northfields area.  It's been a while since we visited any.  We used to like to Raipur or is it Jaipur now.  Is it still as good?  Thanks in advance.

A word to the wise - Mama's has recently been awarded a 0 rating by the Food Standards Agency. Must be pretty dire on hygene to sink to that level.

It's a tube ride away but Indian Zing is fantastic - 236 King St W6.

Present experience is the restaurants are far more efficient than the estate agents and one leaves better satisfied and not so impoverished.

I see mention of Tandoori Villa..... each to their own but I'll never set foot in there again.Zayka is, as most of said here, the absolute business.To my utter shame I'd lived around here for 7 years before I tried it. That's 7 years I wasted!!Mustangs also get's my vote and I used to like Papaya but I wouldn't really class that as a curry house and it went a bit off point a while back.Not sure what PARAS is like on Boston Manor Parade now - that was the place of choice a few years back (before I discovered Zayka)

We are unusually well served with Indian restaurants it has to be said. That and estate agents.

Some great recommendations here. I love Mama's. My son loves Mustang which is nearer to where we live. The upshot from this thread is that in Northfields we are actually in curry heaven! I've lived in Northfields for 33 years and I can make that claim without reservation or hesitation.

The Zayka is by far the benchmark.It is consistently excellent, year in, year out, and has been so for the last 20 years.Others are good, some novel, some flash in the pan, but few are consistent.The Zakya simply keeps on rolling along doing what it does best, great Indian Food.All of my far flung pals, from Africa, NZ and Australia to the U.S. and Europe all have only one thing they must do when returning here on a visit. A Curry at the Zakya.

My favourite two Indian restaurants in Ealing are the Tandoori Villa (Ranelagh Road next to St Mary's Church) which is unlicensed so you bring your own booze, and the Zayka on St Mary's Road, the gold stardard of curry houses.On a slightly different note the Curry Night at the local Wetherspoons pub, the Sir Michael Balcon on Thursday nights cannot be beaten for sheer value. The Sir Michael Balcon is located on the Mall close to Youngs vets.

Hi,You could do a lot worse than to get on an E2 and go to Sami's Spice on London Rd in Brentford.It is excellent and great value.

Good morning Mr Kingham.There are now five such restaurants to choose from. Three of them are Nepalese - MaMa's, Monty's and Kathmandu - and two authentic Indian  -  Spice Magic and India India. My favourite is Spice Magic as they try to be  bit more original and have a few offerings beyond the usual bog-standard curry house favourites most of us have come to expect.  Moreover, they also offer a 30% discount if you are able to book online, so great value too!But if you prefer the taste of Nepalese food then the most recent upstart Kathmandu would be my choice over the other two longstanding establishments.
