Council Tax debacle
Having recently been taken to LB Ealing's kangaroo court, I once again find myself with an arrears notice and the threat of 'court' action; despite never actually receiving a bill or any notification that my move had been registered. Fuming is an understatement at this ridiculous system that we have. The 'court' notice previously hinged on the fact that I had moved (within the borough), filled in the online form yet had not been registered at the new address. Despite calls to the council, where it was told that despite having a receipt of the online form it "did not matter" as the council did not receive the document, I had to take an afternoon off work where I spoke to the very helpful & pleasant Ms Udemba, who informed me that she would sort out the issues with the moving, and end the recovery action against me. I was perhaps foolish in assuming the council would notify me of the updated billing, and didn't chase as hard as I should yet, with no prior notice, the standard "Instalment Arrears" (which in itself is incorrectly spelt) notice came through the door today; almost a full three months after the move.I can't be alone in wondering how many of the 'court' cases are people like me who, it seems, have been fed misinformation at every turn by these people. Has anyone else had any issues, as I'm considering formal action regarding this?
