Recommended Read: Albertina Macneill's Positive Greenford Blog Post

This is a superbly written, humane but courageous piece of writing about Polish immigration to the area that any one who lives locally should read.

I am saddened that Albertina's blog post seems to be no more. I had wanted to comment that though I have not experienced the horrors she relates in Greenford, here in Perivale we have street drinking and  ubiquitous littering by Polish brand beer cans. As both things are illegal why is the Met faiing to enforce the law? I also read of Tripadvisor delating a review which said a certain pub gave a pleasant evening until rowdy Poles entered. Tell the truth and shame the devil and the PCers say I.

I've read some of Albertina's blog before.  It is very thoughtful and documents much better the situation than any of my grabbed attempts.  It is very disappointing to read that she feels that telling things how they are have resulted in reproach and antagonism.  Perhaps we should - in fact I'm sure we all should - stick together to make sure that we can tell things as they are. We shouldn't have to be brave to do so!

Done - comment hasn't appeared. Presume it is subject to moderation.Sorry to hear about the issues you had with social media but Twitter is where I first saw your post so it does have its advantages. If you want to avoid neanderthals it's probably best not to tag Katie Hopkins in your tweets.

The people who shared my photo on social media last summer and followed me around aren't intelligent. I am 51, female and 5'3". If you want to be useful have the courage to nail your colours to the mast and leave a comment, superbly written or otherwise, on the blog post because as far as anyone looking at it is concerned I am on my own with this. I don't expect anyone to agree with me.

Sorry Albertina - assumed you would appreciate it being brought to the attention of others. It is a brave piece of writing but I can't imagine anyone of intelligence doing anything other than applauding you for composing it.

I fully agree, Bertie's blog is an insightful piece of exposé journalism pinpointing the many social problems blighting Greenford and the surrounding area.I particularly like the page "Teed off on Horsenden Hill" with it's deeply meaningful quotes by local political representatives.Evan though she once temporarily blinded me ( partly down to my foolishness but mainly her sadistic nature ) I can find it in my heart to forgive the crusty old hippy for the fact that although the blog is called " Positive Greenford" it's so bloody negative.Keep up the good work Bertie and I look forward to you relating to us tales of bad acid trips, dancing naked at Hawkwind gigs and drunken orgies with the Greenford chapter of Hells Angels.
