Watch out for the new builds with insufficient parking and public transport provision.  Reduced parking is a deliberate planning policy.IN LBH's GWQ it was planned with a bus going onto the site and it is pictured like that.  However it has proved very problematical with the barrier continually being out of action so those less able now have to walk a great deal further out of the site to get public transport. I don't believe that every flat has a parking space. We should also be making spaces for mobility scooters as well as bicycles. In Acton Gardens new residents are suddenly finding that there are not enough parking spaces or perhaps they are not eligible and that surrounding streets have CPZs because Victorian streets were not built for car owners - let along the number that arrive with each member of the family driving when teenagers still live at home or return after college; or houses are split into flats. We need to use public transport more and make it work for us when and where we can. CPZ's have a creeping effect.  The number of spaces in a road are actually reduced because the visibility at junctions is protected. The are apparently pretty costly to implement.  They certainly do not guarantee you a parking space!  Commuters will search out free parking spaces instead of paying for season tickets and travellers will do the same if you live near the tube to the airport for example.  These are most irritating for residents because their cars are parked all day or all holiday with no movement.  The same with businesses... without which there won't be jobs...  You can see how it needs to be integrated.
