Another impediment to traffic flow

Ruislip Road East at the junction with Greenford Avenue has been reduced to one lane on both approaches to the roundabout. Result tailbacks. Why this folly?

All Ealing roads are the same,full of obstacles and potholes,humps and speed tables etc.so much for pollution control,which will shortly be compounded by fireworks for Christmas and the New Year.

So we now increase the pollution from buses, diesel etc outside a school. very good!!! I saw a long queue on my way home last night travelling west. luckily my commute is generally against the traffic. as for controlling speed the ruislip road tends to be so bumpy and full of holes that it is not a road that you would want to go fast along.

On my daily commute this morning around 7:45 there was quite a tailback heading west along the Ruislip Road. Usually there is very little traffic queuing as the roundabot flowed.

The Argyle Road/Ruislip Rd had a lot to do with corporate influence, namely Tesco & public traffic concerns which is why lights were installed. Similar to the Waitrose situation at Alexandria/Hastings Rd, corporate "arrangements" - brown envelopes.I have written to TFL about the A40 Argle Rd jct, as when coming round from the A40 travelling into London, the lights hold you for no reason causing jams, tailbacks congestion. Their first response was they couldnt find the junction & needed a postcode!!!!!!!!!!!!I received a voicemail from an unknown number having unfortunately missed their call. Having written again navigating the diffulcult site, im waiting for a reply. Its been 4 days so far without an answer

1992 to 93 I was chairman of the council's environment committee. I do not remember public consultation but I do remember traffic engineers convincing us that the Argyle Road, Ruislip Road East junction should be changed to traffic lights. Their argument was that lights would help prevent the slip road from the eastbound A40 backing up onto the A40 Later the engineers changed their minds so the junction reverted to roundabout. I do noti see what has changed at Brentside to induce the new impediment.

Consolation is a process they have to do, it does not mean they take account of peoples view, in fact they never do.It will be to do with Brentside School, another consolation has just taken place around Elthrone school, peoples view quite strong about the plans, lets see if they take any notice, I would be very surprised if it does not go ahead as per the councils aim.Traffic flow is not a concern to this council but they like the revenue it generates to them.

I,d like to know who, where & when anyone was consulted. The tailbacks were tolerable, mainly caused by the major Greenford Rd Ruislip Rd junction. Never know why all vehicles cant turn right instead of damned busesAnd of course the bottleneck caused outside Lidl with bus stops opposite each other & 101 busesOc course that can be overlooked though

surely there is an official route to get these schemes changed? How is anyone allowed to just say right, we are going to do this or that, is it legal & could it be over turned? The French wouldnt stand for it

I guess they've done it due to its proximity to the school.I drive around that roundabout daily on my commute to work and have never been aware of any accidents, so it does seem to be yet another pointless congestion and pollution inducing exercise.The biggest Mahfouz/TFL created bottleneck on the Ruislip Road is further up towards Northolt for traffic heading east. Two sets of two lanes into one and traffic lights.The tailbacks block the Willow Tree roundabout in Yeading. Utterly ridiculous. The traffic lights were free though as the developers of the flats where Taylor Woodrow used to be paid for them. Bargain.

Ealing council & TFL cause congestion, Paul James will be in his element,Its farcical & these so called powers that be = MAHFOOL, need removing &  are negligent & cause accidents due to impatience at motorists trying to bypass foolhardy timewasting schemes.Cameras will be next to fine drivers for some infringement or other. sick hoke

Couldn't believe my eyes when I saw this yesterday. Life has been so much better since they removed the traffic lights now creating a new bottleneck. Total madness
