Street fines

I've been sat in Eat, having a coffee, for about half an hour. I've noticed some Council officials (attended by police) issuing fixed penalty fines to members of the public walking past the Ealing Broadway Shopping Centre. I can't work out what on earth they've done. What do you think the fines are for? Littering, smoking...? Odd.I am being nosey, but I'd also be interested to make sure I don't get a fine myself... for jaywalking, wearing odd socks...

I don't think the council makes money out of this. You've not entered into the proper spirit of moaning about the council on this forum. The thing is to moan about any spending cuts by the council, moan about anything that increases council revenue, moan about fly tipping and litter and blame the council, moan about anything the council does to stop fly tipping and litter, moan about the council not building something, moan about anything the council builds,moan about......blame the council and so on and on and on

I'm quite happy for them to make money out of people who leave litter - especially those who abandon used chewing gum - which costs the council money to clear up.  At least this way the culprits are contributing to the cost of dealing with their own anti-social habits.

Won't be Jaywalking, no such thing in the UK.Most likely it'll be littering, I know they operate up around EB station, usually smokers who drop the butt ends or people spitting out chewing gum onto the pavements.
