Motorcycle thieves warning

Disturbed whilst attempting to cut through a security chain to a ground anchor that secured a motorcycle, at about 6pm Weds evening. Seward Road W7. They wouldn't know that it's broken at present.Two young males with a portable angle grinder with diamond cut blade. Left on a scooter after being yelled at by a passerby. Possible association also to a newish white hatchback car, possibly Ford Focus, seen behaving suspiciously half an hour earlier.It's likely that these are the same scrotes I've seen in Elers Park Road (repeatedly) and Northfields Avenue - silver scooter with L-plates, white driver, black passenger with no helmet. They were seen blatantly casing motorcycles parked in front gardens around Seward Road earlier this year.

I've mentioned this via Twitter to the London Motorcycle Museum in Greenford who I've no doubt will spread the word. Unfortunately there just aren't enough police anymore and when they are around they have to waste time dealing with other antisocial behaviour.

I did report it, of course.They just tried again. Scooter bike thieves came back for another go, at 1am. They didn't get near the bike this time, I heard the scooter and was out the front door before they'd got to it. Harsh words of advice were offered, whereupon one pulled a knife, so a hasty retreat indoors to fetch the pickaxe handle, whereupon they scarpered. No reg on the scooter, silver.Police called and turned up pretty quick. Loads of reports of this pair locally, they said, but apparently the police aren't allowed to chase them in case they get hurt, and they know it, so there is an epidemic of lads on scooters stealing bikes across London, especially Ealing.

Very brazen (or stupid) do be doing this at 6pm. Report it, nothing else you can do.
