Dwindling Neighbourhood Recycling Centres
In the last few weeks the large facility on Warwick Raod outside of the University of West London has disappeared and a similar one in the car park of the Gurnell Leisure Centre has drastically shrunk to deal solely with clothes, shoes and small electrical items.Any ideas what this is about and and is it Council policy? One would have thought that with some households struggling with 2 week collections and fly tipping on the rise that the number of these centres should be increased not decreased.Incidentally both locations are still listed on the Councils' own website as active with an extensive range of materials handled. So what is likely to happen when someone, after checking the website, turns up possibly on foot on the way to somewhere else, with bags of recycling materials? And are there are other disappearing sites elsewhere in the Borough?
