Forgive me if this thread is merely a way of blowing off steam.You say to Block the car in counts as "false imprisonment". It strikes me that you have been given poor advice here. If you were to block all of the doors to a car and prevent someone getting out of it, that would probably count as false imprisonment. If you live in a non-adopted road and have clear signs asking non-residents not to park, then, at worst, you might be breaking civil law by parking in such a way as to prevent another car from moving.I doubt whether UWL students lie any more than any others.There is no way of stopping this quickly unless you employ a clamping firm, which brings with it its own, very real, drawbacks.Blocking the car in and, very carefully ensuring the student knows how to call you to "release" their car is probably your best bet.
