Bus Route 112

Tfl is proposing to reroute the 112 along Madeley Road and to modify the Hanger Lane junction to enable buses from Hanger Hill to turn right (exclusively)into Madeley Road.  The proposals include three bus stops in Madeley Road.  The service would no longer reach Ealing Common.The proposal can be seen at https://consultations.tfl.gov.uk/buses/route-112/Is this progress ?

That's a better idea than originally proposed. However, the overloading on the 65 is magnified by the amount of luggage wielding visitors, who are not so savvy about Oystercards and come from places where contactless does not yet exist, staying at the number of new hotels in Brentford.So the 65 is packed until it reaches Ealing road and the soon to be reinstated Bus stop south of the A4 will become the main alighting point for the first batch of visitors.So it would be more appropriate and beneficial if the 112 ran as far as Brentford High Street, turning right and running to the Half Acre, passing Brentford station and then heading onto the A4 and Osterley at Boston Manor Road. Then it would serve no less than 6 large hotels and link with the 65, 237 267 195 235 E2 and E8 bringing a lot of options for passengers locally.Alternatively the 235 which is regularly prevented from completing it's service by a deliberately useless arrangement at the Barratts GWQ development could run to Ealing Broadway providing a bit of relief for the beleaguered and vital 65 route .

TfL now propose that route 112 be extended from Ealing Broadway to Osterley, Tesco, serving South Ealing. This would provide new connections into Ealing Broadway and better match capacity to demand on the South Ealing Road corridor.

I doubt whether a relatively infrequent bus route on an already busy road will have any effect on house prices one way or another.  Perhaps what may be off putting would be a bus stop right outside your house where the waiting passengers sit on your wall, drop rubbish etc.  And when the bus arrives those passengers already on board have a 20 second elevated panoramic view into your garden and front lounge and maybe bedroom if double-decker.

Isn't this something to do with the building of a new school on the site of the Barclays Bank Sports Ground?I understood that TfL had refused permission outright for any right-hand turns by traffic off the North Circular Road/Hanger Lane into Ealing due to probable traffic congestion problems.This may be a solution.

Madeley Road is hardly a quiet side street but a light main road of the type that buses already serve.If hybrid or electric buses come onto the route it will be far less noticeable than the HGVs and vans which use the roadI would think it a boon for locals and a quick route to North Ealing Station.I any case the 83 or whatever it is now, will still cover the rest of the route which is barely used by 112 passengers.

"Would anyone choose to live on a bus route?"What a bizarre statement! I'd love to live on one. And being close to a bus route would increase your house's value I would think (not that house prices in that area are going south anytime soon).

Not progress if you are about to buy a house in Madeley Rd and see the house price drop, as a consequence.Would anyone choose to live on a bus route?

From what i read it would speed the 112 up in theory and also server madeley road. so your question is a good one. But in some ways to get more roads served by buses is good.
