Cleaner Air Borough??????!!!!!

I read with much amusement the article about Ealing being a cleaner air borough.  Is this the same council that introduced the stupid and pointless junction control at Longfield causing 100s of motorists having to take longer journeys and causing additional congestion in the surrounding residential roads?  What a joke and it isn't even the 1st of April!

He (Boris Johnson) also commented on the negative excessive waiting time of lights in Ealing.Seemingly fabricated in MHO,as I have never seen or read any reports of accidents at that junction, except perhaps for drivers trying to negotiate cutting across a live bus lane. The council choose to do as they like

Even boris Johnson said towards the end of his tenure that this policy of "smoothing traffic" being an anthema to pollution and injury on our roads was a complete crock..

Yes that junction change makes little sense. there are other known dangerous places where no change is made? But making the traffic go further is always a rather bizarre way of doing things. It is like the phasing of lights in central london where often they change too quickly for any traffic to actually move. To ensure air is cleaner we need smooth movement of traffic and less queuing up at lights and junctions. but pushing traffic around an already busy area just seems daft to me.

thats part of their arguement, citing accidents, seemingly fabricated & in fact enhancing dangers at that junction along with others (St Leonards Rd) while drivers seek alternative routes.Been said before, problems are diverted elsewhere, they do not disappear

Complete pish. I have never seen an accident there,the only effect is to push irate drivers elsewhere & in fact create a danger by escalating a more problematic right turn.Ealing council (Mahfouz) are causing a duty of care problem, health & safety issue by making these self opinionated decisions

Why is it pointless? The stated aim was to reduce the amount of traffic movements at that over busy junction to try and reduce injury to pedestrians, cyclists and motorists.
