Ealing common trailers

Are the travellers back on Ealing Common? There is a large and growing collection of caravans and trailers, and just now cycling past, cars were being driven all over it, through the trees and onto the road onto The Common, not the route taken by contractors and fun fair vehicles. Does the council not have a GRT officer able to speak to them?

If my dog drops a turd on Ealing Common and I fail to pick it up, then I face a £1000 fine. What's the fine for a traveller turd. Seems we'll be picking up the bill for that.

I heard from neighbours that their huge pile of rubbish was set on fire last night & Fire Services had to attend. The common is covered in their litter with human faeces under trees

And no doubt they'll move straight into Gunnersbury Park when evicted and turn that into a rubbish dump again.

I walked over The Common yesterday & was horrified by the amount of rubbish. It is piled high in 2 different places and strewn all over the grass. I couldn't believe how many caravans & cars are there now. If there's an event due on The Common it won't be able to go ahead. Something needs to be done to speed up evictions in these cases.

I don't think anyone would mind these people being here if they picked up their rubbish, kept the noise down and generally behaved like good neighbours.

The council can evict them but the council have to follow the following order.We think that this is an intolerable site. How long before you can evict?We know that judgements about nuisance and tolerability are purely subjective and that our views may not be the same but we have to work in the wider public interest.If and when we decide to take legal action there are still procedures to be followed. The Courts require public bodies like local councils (but not private landowners) to take account of considerations of common humanity, so we must carry out needs and welfare audits to discover if any allowances should be made before we proceed. We then put our case together and apply for a court date. Assuming that we are granted our Order, we then apply for a Warrant and book the Court Bailiff. It is impossible to put a time to this process but you can see that it is not an instant remedy.

They are back in hundreds. I called the Council today and Parks told me that many residents were calling and that they would not take my name nor give me a reference number for the complaint. They said that they cannot just go there and ask them to leave and that an injunction will be necessary.Ealing should build a wall and put gates in the area to avoid wasting more money with this issue.
