Is Ealing Council imploding?

It seems that way. A wheelie bin fiasco with no end in sight, filthy streets, and a failure to respond to letters and emails. Just some of the issues we face as Ealing Borough ratepayers.

Well, Councillor Bassam Mahfouz, cabinet member for transport, environment and leisure, seems pretty pleased with the way things are going in this statement today: “The service is now working well on the whole, but we are aware that some problems remain in parts of the borough and are working closely with our contractor, and residents, to iron these out."Working well? I don't think so. But in any case, Ealing Borough has been transformed from Queen of the Suburbs to Wheelie Bin Alley. Shocking.

The proposals for the library (John Murias' thread) are further evidence of the downward spiral the council seems to have locked us into. You're right, I think Ian. This is nothing to do with politics - it's sheer incompetence.  And there seems to be nothing we can do about it. Unless someone has an idea...

Sadly, some residents don't help the situation by dumping their rubbish anywhere, but even so, the situation is very much worse since the wheelie bins were introduced so ineptly.

It is sad to watch the place go down. I almost took a picture of the litter strewn street in Grove Road today.

By the way, I have no affiliations to any political parties. But after living in Ealing for 40 years I do not recall any Town Hall administration being in such a shambles.
