WARREN FARM

If the public vote Brexit today it will be a vote against political parties left, right and centre. It is the Labour backed giving away of public land to a multi million pound football club, which isn't in the Borough of Ealing that makes all of us cynical about all politicians.

The idea of giving QPR (a commercial organisation, let's not forget)the use of Warren Farm for 200 years at a peppercorn rent in return for a few changing rooms and sporting facilities for the use of locals (with QPR's permission) seems to me to lack any logic at all.If QPR wanted a 20 year lease for a reasonable sum (say £10 million in total) that would be far more agreeable.  Ealing Council have just given them this land on a plate for very little return.There is very little available land in the borough for public purposes such as building new schools and public housing.If somebody offered you a new garden shed in return for using your garden for the next 200 years would you think that was a good deal?

So let me get this straight... If it was social housing then f**k the medical pathways, the mammoths or the lesser spotted warrenleftiustas. But because it's a commercial organisation who aint paying what you want then you'll protest, protest, protest?How's about QPR pay £200Mill? Happy then?Your logic is flawed. Probably not on my own but it is obviously far easier for Comrade Julian to do a deal with his boss's mate rather then have the vision to provide social housing albeit that he himself occupies one while owning another.

I think you may be alone on that wish !!Also the whole of Warren farm will not be private, there will be community sports facilities as well, something Ealing has a real shortage

Excellent. A mixed use development incorporating housing is far more preferable than gifting the entire parcel of land for 200 years to a private company.The housing shortage is not going to go away and Warren Farm would provide an ideal site with the prime location more than paying for a refurbishment of the playing fields for the benefit of the whole community rather than a few millionaire investors and their plaything football club.

Its not about gifting local space its what is done with the space thats important.Its been left to die for years, maybe if QPR don't get there training centre the next elected council may build a housing estate on the land, maybe you could keep your footpaths then.

The footpath at the south eastern corner of Trumpers Field has been in use for over half a century and passed across Warren Farm.The 'hole in the fence' path which one could reach by crossing the lock gates was also well used but I admit was not 'official'.Still, as long as you are both happy with gifting acres of public space then I am  sure that's OK.Doubtless you also support the virtual gifting of the Town Hall on a 245 year lease for an hotel.Thwe sooner this inept bunch of idiots are voted out of office the better.

They will think of something, its just delaying tactics, no doubt they will appeal etc.This time it was based on a footpath or in fact no footpath as the start is a hole cut  in a fence, SWF are backed by a local law firm, you would think they would have the knowledge of basic law, so all they have done is waste their own money but also our money to defend this
