Wheelie Bins and Conservative Councillors

Pathetic the Conservative Councillors making political capital out of the introduction of wheelie bins. It's been a massive task and the people doing it are doing their best - get over it!

It seems that a lot of them do not have lids that fit properly apparently because of the way that they have been stacked or stored.  Hopefully they will be closing properly very very soon.

Message from Mr. Fox: Hello. Just to let you know that we, the foxes of Ealing, are just as outraged and disgusted as everyone who's been complaining about these new wheelie bins. We used to so enjoy ripping open black bin bags and spreading the contents all over the street and then having a jolly good banquet. It looks like we're going to have to learn how to open these damn plastic boxes or starve. Cruelty to animals we say!

Yes, everybody should be emailing or phoning their Councillors if they are having problems with oversized wheelie bins and not concreting their gardens (they may need planning permission as this can cause increased flooding and the rules have changed). There are smaller wheelie bins available and some properties will be keeping to the existing arrangements. Councillors are elected by us and are paid to represent us.

At least they are not spending council tax payers money making political capital by putting massive posters up on the side of the council offices about national policies they disagree with.....More seriously, and on the subject of The Bins, I'm very glad to see that a Councillor for my ward is doing a good job of representing my views on the matter.  Representing their electorate is exactly what they were elected to do.

Its a fiasco so the people in charge should be taken to task, i think the opposition councillors have every right to condemn whats happened.As for "people are doing their best" well its obvious that doing their best is just not good enough !!

It's not about politics, it's not about being left wing or right wing.  The sad truth is that the people running Ealing council could not do a better job of ruining our lovely borough even if they tried.  I have not met a single person in favour of wheelie bins in Ealing (I'm sure a few exist, but none that I have met in person).  I have not met a single person in favour of the residential skyscraper monstrosities routinely approved by our local planning authorities.Why is Ealing borough so strongly pushing through these deeply undemocratic and unpopular measures?  I can think of no logical, reasonable explanation so I'll utter a guess: corruption.  We know Julian Bell pulled strings to grant himself some fancy council paid housing property when he himself owns a £1M house in the borough.  We know that Julian Bell and his gang of 6 people from the Ealing planning department are 'invited' every year by property developers to the annual Mipim conference in Cannes at a yearly cost approaching £100,000.  We know that the 'waste management' industry has always been plagued by corruption.With people like those involved, is it a stretch to think that money has changed hands and kickbacks have been paid?
