Cannot swap oversized bins for standard

The Council's online form assumes you have been given the 240 litre bin(which is what we were told we would get by the Council reps at the EBC.The form only allows ordering a smaller 140 litre or larger 360 litre. Our street has been given the 360 size-surely in error as these things are for larger blocks of flats, not our house conversions having only four flats each which mostly have just one or two people living in them.So now to waste time tomorrow ringing the Council.

We received the larger 360's (both rubbish and recycling) and contacted our local Councillors who then contacted the department responsible for delivering the bins.Our 360's were replaced the same day with 240's. (again rubbish and recycling).

What Customer Services has told you in that tweet is not correct. There are different sizes of recycling bin. We have received the 360 litre bins but did not want or request these.

We received the 240 litres and actually need the 360 litres. I will be happy to swap. I can collect and drop them :)

and still they won't be small enough for many people.  We have no intention in creating a large residual waste and recycling amount to suit the bins and collectors. With 4 of us we were only making a carrier bag full of residual waste every few weeks. Hurray for the food waste bin it will be collected weekly so if we go away and miss a week it won't be a problem.So how much smaller are the ones that they are being allowed to use in Bedford Park?

You won't be the only one. I asked for the smaller bins before deliveries started as we only put out about half a bag of rubbish each week (there are two of us, and two others in the flat upstairs). The council told me they had already assumed we would share a large bin with the upstairs flat. And now we've been delivered 4 regular, 4 large... And I wouldn't be surprised if some small ones turn up at some point too!! I'm currently boxed in!!
