Warning - motorcycle thieves S & W Ealing

3 lads seen today brazenly casing every motorcycle and scooter parked in front gardens in Seward Road, W7 2JR. The same 3 have been seen in Northfield Avenue, so are very likely local to this area.The 3 are late teens/early 20's. Two were two-up on a black 125cc learner bike - probably a Honda Varadero. The other was riding a scooter, possibly silver, also on L-plates. All were wearing balaclavas under helmets.The scooter rider is very likely the bloke I saw repeatedly last week in Elers Road, riding back and forth at high speed on a silver scooter with L plates. He was afro-Carribean, and he was carrying a white male passenger with no helmet.Please keep an eye out and alert your neighbours.

Sounds like the infamous (and well-known to the police) group of lads who have made the lives of decent Lionel Road residents hell for years: careering up and down the road at great speed and making maximum noise, doing wheelies, riding pilion, I even saw one standing on the saddle as he sped down the road once. They are drug-dealers, use the motorbikes they steal for doing deliveries and often do deals outside the gates of Ealing Cemetery. All this is well-known both to residents and to the police, who seem impotent to do anything about it.

My car "broken into" (again!!) this week - jammer used to disable central lockingThey got away with.......wait for it........sixty pence!!!!On the motorbike front it annoys me the police have a pull away policy for these scooter wrong uns. In my book they know the rules and if they come off and are seriously injured then tough luck bozo

I had my motorbike stolen a few weeks ago. It was a YBR 125, so its not a scooter. I didn't have a lock on it (stupidly I thought that no-one would want to steal such a basic bike) and so they broke the ignition and managed to hot wire it. Police found it the next day dumped in the bushes just on the north side of South Ealing Cemetery. The bike was pretty much written off and the thieves cut the cables and broke the steering lock. The bike couldn't be turned on.I got the bike back to my place and parked it on the side of the road in a parking bay. I was in the process of selling it for scraps when it got stolen again!My guess is that this time its gone for good as they will be taking it apart and selling it for pieces.I've bought a new bike and a good lock for it. Already I can see someone has tried to have a go at the lock as the outer plastic has some cut marks to it. The police need to catch these b*stards quickly.

Thanks for posting, Tony. I'm not too far from that area and it doesn't hurt to be reminded there are plenty of scumbags out there. I too had a bike stolen a few years ago. Even though the theft was caught on CCTV there was no happy ending. My advice? (if you can't keep your bike out of sight, and not too many in our area are fortunate enough to have a garage are they)...Locks, chains, ground anchors and other physical deterrents. Sadly, the best thing to do is simply make a less appealing target than the next bike.

Much of the drug distribution is done by these moped riders. A venue is arranged (e.g. South Ealing Cemetery North End) by mobile phone and the rider and a pedestrian exchange money and drugs in passing. I have seen this happen twice: once in South Ealing cemetery and once outside the Assyrian Centre (Temple Road0> |Tell the police you think its a drug runner (chances are it is) and they will log it in their intelligence database.

I have been asked to immediately report any instances, especially 2-up on a moped (although a different part of Ealing). Waste of a call unless it is in real time, not after thinking about it.

Police won't chase them in case one of the little darlings comes off and gets hurt. When will they ever learn? Ignore these types of crimes and misdemeanours and you breed a culture of contempt and entitlement. Not to mention the anti social and intimidatory effect.

I had a motorcycle stolen from W. Ealing some years ago. I reported it. No police. I found it in Trumpers Way a few days later. I reported that, and the people who appeared to be associated with it. I waited and watched for two hours. No police. So I reported that I would be stealing it back, which they advised against. So I stole it back after harsh words with one of the suspects, rather than leaving it to vanish without trace. Rather quickly then, the police turned up at my home to investigate. After checking me, my paperwork and the bike they were satisfied that I'd done nothing wrong, and promised that since it was one of many local thefts, the existing investigation would be told of where I'd found it and who was suspected. I never heard anything more, although I saw the suspects hanging around W. Ealing several times.Some years later, a friend's motorcycle was stolen from my front garden. She was only here for 40mins having a cup of tea. We reported that. No police.As I understand it there are nowadays only around a dozen police on emergency call response at any one time, for the whole Acton-Ealing-Southall area. It's not surprising they're busy. They can't do everything without our help.I'm now looking out for them, they are undoubtedly local. If more people do that, they won't be around for long.

All you can do is report details to the police, if there are enough reports they might do something. I wouldn't leave a nice bike on the street in London right now, something like 30 bikes a day being stolen currently.

This fits the description of a pair lurking around Little Ealing and Brentford as well.They also black out the rear number plates.Quite a few teens on scooters have taken to hiding the number plates and quite brazenly.Police seem to do absolutely nothing.

Report it, seen too many of these idiots around recently. Problem is police are reluctant to chase them in case one of the poor darlings crashes and hurts himself.
