New bus shelter opposite Northfields station

We have a new, bigger bus shelter across the road from Northfields tube station - all well and good, but why does it have no "next bus" display inside? The old shelter had one, and the one across the road has one, so why not this one? To make matters worse, the facility to use one's mobile to text the bus stop code to 87287 to get next bus info. no longer works, or at least I haven't had any success with it for a couple of weeks now. I don't have a "smart phone" so now have no way of knowing when the next bus is coming - which is not nice when travelling home late at night and there aren't many people about.I've raised a complaint with TFL but had no response yet. It would be good if other people with the same problem could do likewise, as the more complaints TFL receive, the more likely they are to do something about it!

From TfL's point of view it makes perfect sense to phase out the arrival times boards at bus stops now that a majority of people have smartphones. The added benefit is that this will create more space for advertisements. I suppose the thinking is with the elderly and other people who don't have smartphones is that generally they won't be in a rush.

I wouldn't be without my bus APP but you do need a smart phone for it.

TfL have recently signed a contract with JC Decaux for bus shelter advertising. As I understand it the billboard company now pay for the bus shelter and maintain it but bus arrival display boards are not part of the deal.
