Before if you wanted a skip on the street you would go to Percival House queue for approx 15 minutes pay £10 and get your licence there and then ring skip company get skip SIMPLES. Now skip company has to apply for licence which takes 5 working days and cost £120 + VAT ie skip on driveway delivered straight away for £240 skip on street 5 days £384 NOT SIMPLES

Yes, rightly cut money to them, about time local councils learn how to work to a budget, sure we could cut half the staff at Percival house and not notice a difference, need to learn business basics,

Have you seen what the government has done to local authority budgets recently?

I am advised by a builder friend of mine that the way to go is a grab lorry.Far cheaper than a skip apparently. It is also worth being aware that hardcore (including asphalt) can be disposed of at the Quattro site in Brentford for £35 / tonne. (£130 / tonne for stuff they consider 'rubbish' - which is still better than the £195 / tonne I am led to believe Hounslow (and quite possibly Ealing) council charges.)
