Nevil Shute

Given that Nevil Shute wrote over 20 novels, was born in Ealing, and mentions Ealing in most of his books, is there any reason why he has no memorial or street named after him in Ealing?He did leave the UK for Australia, fed up with the government of the day (1950), but regardless of his personal politics surely he deserves a mention somewhere in Ealing? https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Nevil_Shute

I had no idea - I loved A Town Like Alice when I was a teenager - my father had many of his books. I couldn't bring myself to read On The Beach however.

Another English Heritage Blue Plaque may be erected in Ealing for:Nevil Shute, the novelist: English Heritage have received and shortlisted a proposal for the erection of a Blue Plaque at his former home in Somerset Road W13, which they are unable to progress at present.
