New shops in Ealing Broadway

EAT are coming to Ealing Broadway according to British Land's plans. EAT have taken the unit opposite monsoon at the main entrance to the Broadway shopping centre on the Uxbridge Rd - where "Baron Jon" used to be.Chicken Shop http://www.chickenshop.com/ have taken a unit where the handbag shop currently is by starbucks. It looks like they are knocking through the walls to the old loos next door to Doddle to create a bigger unit. Wasabi have taken the corner unit on the entrance to the shopping centre on Bond St  (opposite the big Costa).There's now only one vacant unit in the whole shopping centre - and that one's under offer so we'll see very soon who the tenant is.It's great to see the shopping centre busy again and it won't be long (12 months or so) before the new shopping street in Dickens Yard starts to open for business.

Have you been to Westfield, Selfridges or John Lewis Oxford Street lately - numerous food and drink outlets.  Not necessarily buying in to it but this is all part of the "retail experience".  Shop then flop for a while (still spending money) and then shop again.

EAT? I thought they were exclusively West End and City based - plus the odd airport. Love their "bold" soups - more like stews. EBSC on the up.

I do hope you're being as sarcastic as it seems, Mr Ellis! These aren't shops, they're fast food outlets. They will do very little to improve the shopping in Ealing, which is rapidly becoming a sea of chain eateries. I must say that I had great hopes of British Land after the refurbishment of the Town Centre, which looks better than it has for years. But we need to attract people to shop in Ealing - why would you come here to eat a bit of fried chicken or buy a sandwich?
