Thai restaurant Northfields

I've noticed there is a new Thai restaurant on Northfields Avenue, called Nuki's.  Anyone tried it yet?  Thanks.

I enjoy some lunchtime Nuki! Pennang chicken takeaway (£5) while I have been visiting area. Lovely staff too.Went to the Forresters last night - Thai part excellent, bar below standard. Its all very well having 3 different bar areas, HOWEVER provide adequate numbers of staff.Bar personnel are flitting from one side to another & its very slow getting a drink & not cheap either.Another problem is the Thai staff are not allowed to take alcohol so this adds to delays. I had to get up & reorder so consequently items were added to the bill we did not have.Disappointing pub, smashing restaurant, food & people though

My wife and I had a takeaway from Nuki last night. Judging by the packed dining room they're certainly on to something - while I was waiting 2 people were turned away to come back later.I counted 22 seats and pretty cosy to say the least. We ordered prawn crackers, dim sum, gyoza, pad thai, penang curry and rice which came to a not unreasonable £24.50. Food was really nice and reasonable portions although none of the dishes we had were in the least bit spicy. I'd definitely try them again and a most welcome addition to Northfields!

I went there with my wife last week. The food, save for a pad thai that was slightly too sweet for my palate, is properly good and the service is charming. This is the sort of place on Northfield Avenue that I've been waiting years for.

Very good news to have a Bedlington cafe style cafe by day, Thai by night in Northfields. The Bedlington cafe Thai has proved to be a very sustainable business model. In fact it surprises me that more of our cafes do not offer a bistro style evening set up with a BYO option given we have another recent cafe closure.Correct me if I am wrong, but I think this is the first Thai restaurant on Northfield Ave since the one that resided at the Spice Magic site in the 1990s (can't remember the name). From what I recall it was slightly pricey and did not have a BYO policy. Hopefully Nuki's can survive and I for one wish them every success.

Sorry to have upset you Colin. Just expressing an opinion and so far as I am aware that's what a forum is for. Correct me if I'm wrong. We know it's a pub. We know it's a Thai dining area and it's local. No one said otherwise. We can't all like the same things or places.

I'll try this new gaff -- where is it?But I'd not jump on the bandwagon having a pop at Thai Forrestors Had a couple of iffy take always when the lady who had the cooking school went home to Thailand and did give it a rest. However every time I've eaten in there it's been fantastic and we've had great nightsIt's a pubIt's a Thai dining areaIt's localIt is what it is...!!!

Thanks Harry. Agree about the Foresters, always found it to be bit dark in there and not particularly friendly.  Will try the new one sometime soon and will report back.

We will try the new Thai restaurant very soon,a welcome business to the northfields area.we were patrons of the thai forester but since the new owners took over its not as good,re quality,food price,very high drinks price list,you always know your in a pub not a restaurant.I see it's BYO drinks that's very inviting,planning a visit for next week.
