Advice about new utilities for house conversion

I will be splitting my house in to 2 flats, my question is: is there any choice  in the utility companies I must use to fit the meters and make te connections and secondly are some cheaper than others?

For gas i have used www.firstgasconnections.co.ukI get the electric done by the existing supply company,same as water and any extra drainage required.Its a total headache and the cost is rather high.Council planning permission is an extra hurdle to clear,often they don't know their (up todate) regulations.Good luck and allow yourself plenty of time.

your existing utility supply company will have a list of approved contractors.
