Dean Gardens Public Car Park West Ealing

Why has the council blocked off 20 of the 42 available parking bays in Dean Gardens car park in Leeland Terrace? The bays have been designated as reserved for use by the new Holiday Inn Express Hotel for overnight parking from 4pm each day. The hotel owners reassured residents that there was no hotel parking requirement when the initial plans were submitted but it now seems that this was quite untrue. The loss of these valuable spaces between 4pm and 6.30 pm daily (after which time parking restrictions in other parts of the area are relaxed) is  a terrible blow to local shoppers and traders and to those visiting their local park particularly during the summer months and for regular events such as Soundbite. Who is responsible for this decision and were the local councillors in agreement? Why did the Holiday Inn get preference over any other local trader and how much money has changed hands?

No news. Senior politicians and officer contacted. And Walpole ward forum told. There is an awful smell from this deal. Air fresheners are flying off the shelves in West Ealing. The LBE aristocrtacy are saying nothing. That we know, we are serfs. When like the car park one of us is sold then we know we are slaves.

Yes it was a renegade officer with delagated powers that knew no bounds and whose decision can't be reversed. They look after their own so we will never know who it is. What makes this worse is that West Ealing has lost 3 carparks on the north side of Uxbridge Road now add to this is another half.You could not make this up.

Maybe the hotel with their council contacts could do something about the area of their allocated parking.The carpark,alley and area behind BHF shop is used as a public toilet,its utterly disgusting,i could give more detail but you may be having your tea.

A very close look at certain councillors and to whom they are related to within the employee of the council and the possible manipulation of staff within is very revealing.Why has this not been brought to scrutiny?

Dave,Quite right to raise this question. No, councillors didn't know. Another renegade officer methinks. It is becoming increasingly clear that councillors don't know about any changes. They have been bypassed and this means they don't represent us. At election times they say "Vote for me to represent you".The system prevents them doing just that. Should they resign or should they kick up a fuss and sack officers who bypass them and the democratic process?
