Very sorry to see the news on the front page. I for one will miss this shop, I could always find something unusual for birthday/Christmas presents. It'll be a great loss to Northfields Avenue.

Looks great. I've missed Darch and Duff. I wish them every success. What's happening with the old hardware store have seen a new shopfront. Not another hairdressers I hope.

Tom is right- i know that for a fact. In the Bookshop i overheard someone say to a friend " have you read this book, they recommended it here and i bought all the rest from Amazon"

In my opinion the reason why shops like Darch & Duff are closing are peoples tendencies to look in the shops for ideas then buy online soon we will have a high street of closed shops or Coffee shops USE OR LOSE

With Crossrail coming in soon? Not a chance mate. Acton's on the up as well.Believe me, I could do with falling house prices. I'm priced out of buying around here, and am now looking at Southall as it's still (for now) vaguely affordable.

a depressed shopping parade will act as a suppreeant on property prices- look at Acton

Sad as I am to see the departure of any independent shop, if you think that such closures are going to affect local house prices, then I have a bridge in Brooklyn that I'd like to sell.
It's really sad to lose Darch & Duff. I expect a decline in sales did not help. what local residents don't seem to appreciate is that as these " nice " business close their house prices will be hit.If we are left with such appalling locsl businesses as Terracotta, there will be little reason to shop locally.I wish Helen, Mary and their staff all the best for the future
A real shame, it's sad how many empty shops there are in Northfield Avenue

Agreed. Whilst convenience stores, off-licences,hairdressers etc provide the staples of life it is good to have a few local shops that provide something for those special occassions. Any idea why they are closing down? Rent rise maybe. Right shop in wrong location.
