Turkey cage

Trying hard to rebut Turkey cage entry. keep getting stopped by error 500. Anyone can help?

There is no road safety officer in LBE and my FoI request said that no risk assessment had taken place before the cage was placed. There is a safer position on the 3300mm wide pavement on the north side of the pampas grass triangle.Walpole ward councillors have been informed.

they are compliant with being located on the carriage way. I suspect contacting the officer or department responsible for them would yield a response.

Fascinating, a conspiracy around turkey cages! I think you would be best off contacting a councillor who is not a cycling zealot. Someone who has spoken out against pavement cycling would be good place to start. Pick your concillor with care and attend their weekly/monthly surgery so that you can eyeball them face-to-face and not let them hide behind a fortress of email. Failing that there is the Health and Safety Exective which has a comprehensive website.

Waldemar,I put in a Freedom of Information request to ask if there had been a risk assessment of its position right on a junction where people cross(Mattock Lane has no speed humps at that point). And why no lights or proper reflectors. So no reply and no risk assessment after the due time has expired. A sorry state for road safety. But who will answer for this?

I saw a turkey cage over towards West Ealing today near Northfields Avenue on one of the side roads - can't remember which road - but it did make me chuckle at the thought of a "turkey cage", a most apt and amusing name/label for it.

Andy.many thanksDavid so few cages that no evidence has had a chance to generate itself. problem of enforced skip lighting still exists when cage and skip are similar size.

Arthur, I experienced a 500 error problem some time ago. This site's technical support people advised me to clear my browser cache and it has worked fine since.

It would be good to allow those who don't have the space at home to house a bike to be able to use one as their means of transport.  They just need to not cause dangerous obstruction.

I am surprised the reflectors are not up to scratch but I'm no expert in these matters. Certainly a worth telling the council. Personally still reckon they are a good idea and hope to see lots more on every street.

David,The reflectors are wrong in colour and position. Please see motor vehicle Construction and Use Regs. I drove past after dark in both directions and they failed. I am not a muppet. I have driven for over 50 years. The cage has also invaded the double yellow lines at this junction. May we see the risk assessment that allowed this intrusion by the cage where pedestrians cross? There are no speed humps in Mattock Lane so even more important to maintain these yellow lines. And what are LBE going to do about skip lighting? A good idea processed badly; bit of a turkey?
