An Ealing man fined £80 for dropping a cigarette butt!

Fabulous. It might make people think before nonchalantly discarding their butt.

Complain to your local Councillors - if it is a health and safety concern especially if it is a continuous problem.  However there is a limit to which you can go.  When everybody is supposed to be working until they drop there isn't the same amount of time as there used to be to talk over the garden fence as you garden.

Again it would seem that residents are expected to do the job the Council and it's operatives are paid to do.I can imagine situations where residents will face abuse from litter louts if ee sre seen to be taking photographs of them to psss on to the Council.We might dven be accused of violating the human rights of the litter lout! It's a crazy world.

I tried fix my street folk Susan but they could not help .The rubbish I complained about was not on a public place. Council make you track down the landlord and complain to him/her.

The Council replied to my complaint about this rubbish problem Said I needed to photograph the culprits. !! Then send the photos to them.

There must be a way of reporting these areas on line, in a similar way to a failed recycling collection.

What about people leaving their dog  pooh bags, crisp packets and pizza boxes dpwn the leafy roads and in th pretty public gardens. Need a litter warden or two to stop these litter louts

They need to do more than just clear it up.  They should be using CCTV and catching these people.  Just cleaning up encourages it.  Name and shame.  Why should everybody else be paying their Council Tax to clean up after them?

Very welcome.  But I am sure there are more "worthy" targets. Walk down Castle Hill Parade (lower end of The Avenue W13) any and every morning and you will see that dumping household rubbish around the trees seems to be the norm.  That said the Council seem to be on to it in terms of clearing up regularly but they can't be there every hour.

I wish someone had been on Acton Mainline station platform a few days ago, one guy decided to tear some paper into tiny pieces and scatter them all over the platform!I am afraid neither my friend or myself felt it would be in our best interests to tackle him, and that's the problem, these litter louts get away with it!
