When certainties become doubts

I recall a meeting in which because of the sophistication of the modelling there could be no doubt about the advantages of the proposals to change traffic flows in Hanwell centre. Well I read today that that decision to reverse the traffic flow in Cherington Road is being reversed. I have also been told by the same person that the new supply and emptying of bins on a fortnightly basis will improve recycling rates. No mention of aesthetics and no evidence and no doubt and no trial. How has community engagement come to this? I reckon some of us know a thing or too but were not asked. We do know that "big ears ain't listening". We were told when the "Shaping a Healthier Future" proposals were launched that we didn't need Clayponds, Ealing or Charing Cross hospitals because London was overbedded. That proved wrong and so we have two excellent hospitals on good transport routes in limbo. I am a boring old Art so I'll stop there. Can you help me please by bringing some science and logic to these poor decisions that affect us all?

Equate bananas to guns for us! I recall something a while back about 85 per cent of our manufacturing industry being defence related. Why do you think we get involved in all these wars? The victor that we install buys our guns!

Yes when you see the Tax Credits and the denials it is just so dishonest. we are a banana republic with no bananas!!

There is a total lack of honour in today's society. Time was a politician caught lying would resign. Now they laugh it off.Right and wrong do not matter: social housing promised today is forgotten about tomorrow.

ArthurThe evidence in the grand old traditions of the Sweeney is made to fit the result that is required. Years ago a colleague told me that I will always have work in IT, because the hordes of the incompetent are out there in front of you. So people require an answer and so it is a case of fitting the question. To me the people who are making decisions have lived too narrow a path. Politicians are the private school and PPE at Oxbridge, researchship and party list. I the good old days we had a whole host of experience to call upon. so evidence that we see is always suspect. the hospital changes are so that land on which non-PPI hospitals are sited is to be sold off to pay for the PPI White elephants. So the overbedded claim results from yet more iffy research by people who are expert in delivering the questions and answers that are required.

"Can you help me please by bringing some science and logic to these poor decisions that affect us all?"We can't do that,both science and logic depend on facts,in this case to do so would bring both into disrepute.Nope it's a bug going round, not just in Ealing it's rife in Westminster, it's called D.O.A (delusions of adequacy).
