How do I find out about the Ealing Park Mansions development?

Two stories are going to be added to the top of the Ealing Park Mansions block/shopping parade in South Ealing across the road from the Co-op. The whole front of the shopping block is clad in a massive scaffold and  as soon as the rear scaffolding is up they are going to start stripping the roof. I haven't even been able to find a request for a scaffolding license on a public high street so what is going on?

Not quite all of the scaff went on Saturday. About a quarter is still up. Not out of the woods just yet.

The scaffolding comes down on a busy Saturday shopping afternoon |(today). Business proprietors and residents of the flats in the block breathe a sigh of relief as they prepare to sue the freeholders for damage to shops and awnings....(Maintenance over, damp still rising faster than ever there!).

I have had my information corrected by someone who hopefully should know, one of the long-term small business shopkeepers: apparently it is routine maintenance though with the exception of the florist for some strange reason no one who lives in the Ealing Park Mansions block above the shops or the shops themselves knew anything about itbefore it happened. The previous freeholder of the block several years, a hairdressing magnate (?!?) did research a scheme to capitalise his investment by adding an extra storey to the top of the building though he did not get very far with this. In light of this the sudden appearance of a huge amount of scaffolding without prior warning raised a mini panic among residents (and neighbours).

Le Bar Zinc Des Mouchards? Hmmmm. With everywhere south of the Uxbridge Road in Ealing counting as south Ealing that results in a broad canvass. My money is on Duffy's up by Northfields Station, it has a headline up today in Ealing Today about an assault where "Two 29-year-old men witnessed a woman being punched and kicked in the face at around 23:00hrs on Tuesday, 17 March." With that kind of customer care I would not want to be known as posting something that mentioned it!

It is a name that could be applied to a number of bars and pubs in South Ealing. Much like the legendary 'Flying Swan' in Brentford from the Brentford Chronicles. I use it to disguise the source of my information.

What I heard in my local, 'Le Bar Zinc des Mouchards' is that one of the empty shops is going to be an entrance lobby and that there is going to be an elevator going up to the new upper floors which will be some kind of hostel/hotel.
