Re-cycling again

We're still trying to get rid of 2 perfectly nice, sound brown leather sofas for free. They were bought in 2007 from Sofa Workshop and no-one wants them, even charities housing homeless people. They have MINOR cat damage to the arm which has virtually polished out. The council want £40 to take them away, am sure the tip won't take them so am at a loss. Any ideas? Thanks

What a pain - it's bad enough having to remember which week it is with a fortnightly collection.  I hope you've reported it on the Council website - otherwise they can pretend to the Council that everything is hunky-dory.  I might even report it on www.fixmystreet.com

Once again, the waste collection service have not collected our garden rubbish this morning - bah how annoying! Normally, they are quite good at domestic waste collection. What a pain.

Well done for persevering!One of the things that people are short of or think they are short of is time.Maybe if you had a picture and dimensions to put/send online it would have moved it faster - but who knows.

Thanks all. Acton Re-cycling wouldn'nt take them, tried Gumtree, Facebook and Freecycle. I took photos of them and went into the BHF and spoke to the managerwho agreed they were lovely and has agreed to take them. We polished out the cat scratches. Clearly people have too much money around here.

Another one to try in Ealing:www.accessioncic.comDid you try all the charities/organisations on http://westlondonwaste.gov.uk/      under "Furniture"and all the people under "Action" on the WLWA website which includes amongst others Streetbank (not the same as Streetlife)?Somebody must want them!
