New West Ealing station

"we can't (won't) build lifts or escalators in our refurbished and new railway stations to aid our disabled fellows? "Not only can we, we have to by law (it's illegal to discriminate against mobility impaired people in new public transport infrastructure and vehicles), and West Ealing will indeed have lifts, as pointed out by others on here and on Crossrail's website back in June.http://www.crossrail.co.uk/news/articles/crossrail-unveils-designs-for-new-station-building-at-west-ealing

Isn't it stupid, that in an age when we can travel millions of miles to remote planets and stars and test their terrains and we can't (won't) build lifts or escalators in our refurbished and new railway stations to aid our disabled fellows? I think we've got our priorities wrong imo.

No doubt constrained by a tight budget as a secondary station but, to me, the artist's images point to a modern, simple and airy building.  Thumbs up from me.Only hope it will be possible to get on a London bound train in the rush hour.  A common problem for stations not far off the destination of the terminals.  This may well be exacerbated by not being able to target the Paddington bound Greenford train which is destined to terminate at West Ealing.

Indeed, lifts are to be provided. Same place but new entrance off Manor Road. Hopefully with pick up/drop off facilities for those less mobile - which could not happen on the crest of the bridge as now. But don't expect lifts and escalators.
