New LEDs for some reason have to remain on for some time until the control system calibrates them.LED lights have benefits and drawbacks. The low running costs and energy consumption is compromised by a light that creates hard shadows and low diffusion and a cold harsh light. LED public lighting is also still in it's infancy so they are not yet fully suitable in all applications, but this will no doubt, be overcome with emerging development.Ealing though, has an established and well run street lighting facility and will have given more thought to the application of LEDs than has been apparent in Hounslow where problems ranging from lights shrouded by tree foliage and poor quality equipment have manifested.
