.Politicians Privileges and percentages

Why am I supposed to look upon the government as ONE with all of us who are asked to share the cuts and austerity of the times, when clearly the Politicians do not? LocalGovt or Westminster, Parliamentary Govt vote themselves above the Call. Is Austerity affecting them More than the general population.?

There is a call to joint sacrifice in the name of communal austerity. Our leaders local and national seem to be ignoring this call. Are their needs greater?At least that's what I read.
