New Music venue for Ealing Broadway (front page news)

The nearest comparable music small to mid size venue would be the Jazz club in Wandsworth or Jazz cafe in Camden - this could be a really nice addition to Ealing's night life.

After reading the full report and looking at the plans I have to agree with Colin.It will look like those soulless buildings beside City Hall all glass and windy vortices.But the idea of preserving the Ealing club and having a bit more to it is really good. But the history is embedded in the place itself.

Indeed Coliin and wewll said.Is this on the site of the club that is down the small alley that is off the main rd on the way to the green. It used to be called the Nutmeg when I lived in Ealing 1977/8?

Believe it when I see it.Developers have no interest in developing sites in London for social use - it's all flats, flats, flats and density = margin.Besides it's another swing ball through a part of our recent heritage. The grand old buildings here could be retained and developed but the truth is there's reduced returns in that. So we'll smash the history out of it and stick up a building in kit format consisting of cladding and straight angles.Dont get me wrong - it keeps me in work but there's an abundance of brownfield sites around which could be used but arent 200 yards from transport links
