A Europen agreekment pending.

I don't fully understand the situation regarding Greece and the European leaders. I thought Greece was bankrupt and on her knees and here she is being offered umpteen millions Euros in loan money to save her from exiting Europe!  Someone please explain this - its a conundrum.

The Issue was that the Euro was always going to end up like this. In order to make it happen, people ignored the rules and so countries with poor economic status were included. this was dictated to by the egos of those running the European project. Various loans and encouragements were given to corrupt governments. It is a mess and the poor of Greece will pay the price. The Euro in order to succeed has to destroy democracy. The syriza government have tried to battle for Greece but the fact is that any leftist democracy will be crushed by the Germans, IMF and ECB. So in the cradle of democracy it is over!!

I hope this crisis in Greece and the Euro Zone won't impact on the rest of Europe and UK. Trying times!

Yes, Aristotle, Socrates and Plato and all those lads will be spinning in their graves like a giant doner...I think the expression 'Stuck between a rock and a hard place' applies in this matter.

"...they are just delaying the inevitable."But if Greece left the Euro it would have to re-create its old currency the drachma and it would surely flounder and sink without trace forever - poor Greece, the cradle of all democracies! Greece has to be rescued imo.

It's a money pit and in my opinion the sooner Greece leaves the Euro and takes the medicine the better all round. I think they are just delaying the inevitable.
