Sunday trading

What do people think about proposals to remove restrictions on Sunday trading? I, for one, enjoy the quiet of the first couple of hours on Sunday morning before the shopping hordes come out. Would it really boost the economy? Would people spend more or just do so at different times? Do we actually want people spending more given the levels of household debt?

Agree - & also spare a thought for the workers. There is an arguement for the demand, but weekend working is becoming a "normal" day,I for one no longer receive an enhanced pay (double time on sunday)

Like you Susan, I appreciate the quieter, laid-back atmosphere of a Sunday morning. I'd like to see Sundays as a different day. Also, I think we are tempted to spend more than we need, thus increasing our weekly household debt. Keep Sunday different and quieter I say - sufficient unto the day etc...
