Ealing Coucil/Contractor Pitshanger Pk Rubbish & Emptying Of Bins

The bins in Pitshanger Pk are overflowing, there is literally rubbish spilling out & consequently litter strewn across the park, either by the wind or animals.Apart from being an eyesore,it is a danger to dogs who tend to scavenge. & noticeably this has been for a couple of days as there is a distinctive refuse bag still in the same place.Why are these bins not emptied daily? Who is responsible for doing so & why is it not enforced?

It's thoughtless and selfish the way that so many people just expect someone else to clear up after them.  People need to take more responsibility for what they waste, the volume of their waste and what they do with it.Aren't there recycling banks nearby where some things - particularly plastic bottles and steel and aluminium cans can be recycled?  And maybe glass bottles too!  then you can recycle it while you are out and only take some home or put it in the litter bin.  Carrier bags of waste isn't really litter IMO.

The rubbish bins in Walpole Park are full to bursting after each weekend and there's rubbish scattered around each one on a Monday morning - horrible.

I agree with you PB, that rubbish ideally should be taken home. Unfortunately there are some who use the bins as a domestic dumping ground, thankfully few & far between.Some rubbish I would say cant be taken home, dog dirt for example.The bins dont have lids, rather a pillar box style slot, however the problem remains as they are full & no more rubbish can be inserted, not helped by them being unemptied for days on end

I don't know about Pitshanger Park because I haven't been there for a long time but have the bins got lids? I've seen the crows pulling carrier bags containing the remainders of picnics out of open-topped bins.  In Gunnersbury Park they didn't and there was a mess.  The crows also eye you in the morning as you walk through the park - no doubt watching to see if you are going to provide dinner for them.  Scroungers. People need to be encouraged to take their waste and recycling home with them.  And if they are not going to do so then be more considerate and flatten the packaging where possible to make more room in the litter bin.
