The worst supermarket.. TESCO?

After shopping at TESCO's (for my best clothes etc!!) for over 20 years I'm leaving them.Had a terrible experience with their on-line shopping and service seems to be a dying word in this countrySo farewell Gillette Corner... where to next?

My family use Waitrose for the main weekly shop and M&S for everyday items. We like Waitrose because its always clean, well lit and spacious and to save any heavy weights, we always have it delivered after having selected the goods ourselves.I like browsing around Cudi's in West Ealing too.

Morrison's in Ealing Broadway is good for non-meat groceries. The little meat I use I get from M&S or Waitrose.If I had more time I'd shop more regularly from local stalls and shops on the Uxbridge Rd - I do love a wander around Cudi's!

Most forummers have a 'down' on Tesco's! Therefore, which is the best supermarket?  And which is the most expensive?

Always hated Tesco's - their shops always seem dirty to me. Waitrose in West Ealing is a delight and I also really like Sainsbury's in Richmond

Tesco's share price rises today by 3.4%. They are improving at long last. I quite like shopping at Tesco's. Their wine sales are good value imo.

What do you expect??? shopping in Tesco's is for pond life..... get yourself to Harrods, Selfridges or if you have to go down market, then maybe try Waitrose!!!!! Although they do not sell clothes.... Try Millets !!!!

I too have changed allegiance with Tesco after a diabolical experience when buying a new washing machine. I now use Curry's ..fantastic service and nothing too much trouble, Same with Curry's in Ealing Shopping Centre. After care service second to none as well. Food ..well for quality try Lidl.

Good fish, good cheese and good Mediterranean hors d'oeuvres.  We hardly ever eat any meat.

Have to disagree with regard to the Lidl meat.We have always found it fine.

I like the Co-op fpr wine and bread and Waitrose for everything else. Shame we don't have a decent Sainsbury near us. Lidl is fine for cleaning stuff etc but the meat is rank.

The Gillettes Tesco I find reasonable, as does the Twickenham branch, mainly because of their size enabling more products.Service is dubious, if you ask, its usually met with a blank look or an employee pointing vaguely in the supposed directionM&S, as with Waitrose the employee escorts you there.I have found in the late afternoon M&S severely lacking in bread & early mornings no checkouts open in the food hall

Tesco's near Gillette Corner seem to have too many empty shelves when we visit, but their wine is usually well stocked imo.
