Two questions about Europe.

The first question is:- What is the eastern border of Europe?  I don't mean the European Union, but what geographers call Europe.The second question is:- How many sovereign countries are there in Europe?Thanks.

How important is Europe to Britain - is it as important as the Commonwealth used to be and America is now?  What about the rest of the world-is Europe as important as the rest of the world? I'm just curious to know.
