Summer jobs?

I know two teenagers who require temporary summer jobs(say end June to end Sept). Both are well presented, polite, hard working, eager to learn and want to work 9 hours a day, 7 days a week to earn some money to help them at uni next autumn. Any suggestions or offers please? Thanks.

I remember my first real job - in 1950 doing National Service in the RAF. I started as an Aircraftsman AC1(the lowest possible grade) and my weekly wage was £3-17s-6d.  Happy days.

I remember my first job on a saturday, I helped a builder as a "gofer". Earned the princely sum of £5 - £2 of which I saved.My first full time employment was with Ealing Council & I received £84 a week net. There was then the bombshell from my dad announcing rent had to be paid.I had many happy years with Ealing (16 in fact) & earned well with plenty of overtime,which helped raise a quite substantial deposit towards my first house - happy timesI am now in my 16th year with Openreach/BT, also a job I enjoy for the most part, goodness knows what I would do next should the situation arise

Yes, my two teenager friends should have tried some time ago - they can't get anything except supermarket shelf-filling jobs. One's going to study accountancy, the other pharmacy. When I took a 'summer job'(many years ago) I worked in a ladies' hairdresser/stylist operation sweeping floors, making tea, cleaning windows, any odd jobs that the boss commanded me to perform - it was relatively good pay too(I got the occasional tip!).

Sorry Gerry, they should have started looking before Christmas they will join the tens of thousands trying to do the same.Let's hope that someone on the forum can come up with something for them.
