Warning - temporary lights by The Plough

Just a word of warning.  Last night while waiting to cross on the pedestrian crossing by the Plough which has got some temporary lights.  Three cars decided not to obey the rules and completely ignored the lights because they wanted to turn right into Windmill Rd. They drove through the green lights allowing pedestrians to cross.  Luckily no one was hurt but it could so easily have been a very nasty accident. Take care anyone using that crossing.

This week has been pretty much the first since August that my run to work has been free of these works. Worrying to hear there's more planned - but the surface on Popes Lane is shocking!

The whole front end of Popes Lane down to Travis Perkins was meant to be completely resurfaced in March originally, then April, etc. etc. etc. I understand that they are going to have to dig the junction of Popes Lane and South Ealing Road up for duct laying. Even once the ducts are in they are going to have to put junction bays every 500m or so into the road to pull the cables through which come in 500m lenths and need to be crossed over and joined in these bays.

What was concerning is that much of the resurfaced area on Popes Lane is now covered in little blue.yellow, red and green painted tags signifying that the=at they may be digging it up again soon.

I think that you might find that this is our old friends Scottish and Southern Electric Distribution (SSED) ably assisted by Murphy Ltd. The same outfit that trashed about half of Popes Lane on the other side of the South Ealing Road. They have statutory powers that make it difficult for Ealing Council to control what they do and how they do it.

in full agreement with you.our favourite (well my "favourite") THE COUNCIL grant permissionThere should be an emergency telephone number on all works.although that doesnt solve  temporary lights becoming faulty. Im led to believe also that pedestrian crossings, zebra crossings, bus stops need too be suspended within the works.How about PCSOs directing trafic to ease congestion

Just who is supposed to be co-ordinating all this?On Tuesday it took 45 mins on a 65 from South Ealing to Brentford. at 4pm.Wednesday, South Ealing Rad was jammed to  Lothair Road, Little Ealing Lane was jammed, Northfield aven also Queueing back to Belsize road, Windmill Road Closed and Boston Manor road busy and this was at 9.15 pm.It is little wonder people blow their tops and seek rat runs at speed.But if there is an accident the resposibility really lies with those who have completely failed to manage such situations.TfL also seem completely unbothered that such unmanaged disruptions almost continually disrupt the 65 route between Kew and Ealing and the other local routes.They also do not seem concerned about the poor road surfaces on roads they have responsibility for.It seems impossible to actually pin down a name and number or email for the person who has ultimate responsibility for managing such situations.

A lot of actions are caused by impatience (including myself).Lights are meant to be monitered & quite often malfunction causing a long delay. They can be set, & im of the view little & often to ease the queues.I have never seen an emergency contact number in the event of any fault

The driving in the whole of that area is appaling at the moment. Impatient motorists are driving like crazy until they meet the next lot of roadworks..Windmill Rd resurfacing, emergency repair on A4 at S Ealing Road Junction Too much going on in too small an area. The driving down Ealing Park Gardens is very dangerous. Drivers driving far too fast.It is only a matter of time before a serious accident occurs.
