I'm not sure you can have "too much democracy" Gerry,if things take a little longer but in the end a fair conclusion is arrived at then so be it.My problem with the repeal of HRA is that I can't believe that under the current regime it will be as you put it "advantageous to the greater good of people",much more likely is that it will be "advantageous to the good of greater (sarcasm) people." If in doubt, try explaining to yourself how the recent sell off of Royal Mail had any advantages for the "great unwashed". Here's a clue,it didn't! Instead the government advisors,investment bankers et al advised that the share price shouldn't be over £3.30,come the day they bought shed fulls of shares only to sell them at £5.00ish the same day. Yes as a sweetener to the masses Royal Mail employees could buy them,but I doubt many of them had much spare cash to buy too many of them.Democratic? My elbow!
