I agree.As well as popping in from time to time, I've twice gone there on a Wednesday for their regular £10 steak frites (medium-rare) and been impressed both times.My mother enjoyed it too but, as a teetotaller, was less impressed than I am with their range of beers. She did say the coffee was good and we both liked the service.I asked the manager about their pricing and sourcing policies and he was very open about everything. They have a good spread of local beers and see The Forester as the main local place for comparison.I'm a little concerned that I haven't seen the pub advertised or promoted anywhere besides this forum. I live near the (currently fully shuttered) White Hart and there are so few decent pubs anywhere nearby that to lose one would be bad news.
