St Marys church husting

Interesting event.Angie Bray didn't turn up. Unsurprising after her previous comments questioning climate change.Rupa Huq rarely completed a sentence, but managed to be patronising to the other candidates. Also read many of her answers straight from the Labour Green Manifesto. And she forgot the names of other candidates. And her mobile phone rang.She claimed a virtue of not being a professional politician. Yes, that's good, but she didn't strike me as being a competent representative.Jon, again, was sadly uninspired in his delivery, stilted and quoting party line statements. The archetype of a person trying too hard. I felt for him, but he didn't come over well.He did seem to get picked on by the chair rather unfairly for things that were obviously out of his, control (which is happening to the LD's generally/nationally IMHO).By far the best speaker of the evening was the Green candidate, and the second best was the UKIP man.They both could have gained swing voters.I'm now more undecided that I was before.

Thanks for alerting me to that event. Will attend if work allows.Rupa did say St Mary's was the 8th husting she had personally attended, and said 'and all you other lot have sent deputies at least once...' (rather typical of her style!). A statement contested by Jon.

Angie Bray said she would only do four hustings, the last one of which is on Wednesday at Acton Town Hall. As the sitting MP she's had lots of invites to speak to various community groups which have clashed with hustings. There have been a lot more hustings than in 2010, not sure why they've mushroomed in this way.I've seen Jon Ball twice at hustings and he's been pretty competent in defending the Lib Dem position. The Green and UKIP candidates have acquitted themselves well. I would agree that Rupa has been in a class of her own!

Are you kidding me? Peter Florence, the UKIP candidate was easily the best speaker. His answer to the question about TTIP totally nailed it.All the Green guy did was sit their showing off his unaturally shiny teeth and shoot off obviously cliche text book remarks in a slimy manner.
